Sandeep Contract Scrapped

Domingo Saints goalkeeper Sandeep has been sensationally sacked by the club after a training ground bust up with manager Richard Jones. Sandeep played for the Saints in the 2-0 win over Macclesfield at the weekend. The incident took place during training where manager and player exchanged heated words over the way the team was managed.

Saints' spokesman said that Sandeep's contract was cancelled with 'mutual consent' with immediate effect. Sandeep and Jones were both unavailable for comment but the Merseyside club said that 'It is with great regret that goalkeeper Sandeep's contract has been cancelled wth mutual consent and that we would like to wish Sandeep well'

After their well deserved victory over Macclesfield Domingo Saints face a tough tie against league leaders Hartlepool. Manager Richard Jones know full well that the ask of his players is a tough one but after securing their first three points of the season not an impossible task.

'I know that people are expecting us to get well beaten on Saturday but we may be playing them at the best time. Saturday's result was a huge mora boost for us and the lads are on top of the world at the moment. I think we may cause a few surprises.' Hartlepool are currently unbeaten and have yet to drop a point but Jones is confident that his side can cause an upset. 'The players are improving all the time, sure it's taken us eight games to get to this point but things are starting to work out. If we can bring the form from the last game with us then anything's possible'.

Saints Exstatic After Win

After eight matches, Domingo Saints managed their first win of the season and did it in style against a fellow team struggling for their survival. Macclesfield Town came into this match with a two point advantage but lost it all as goals from Rob Cash and Kevin Cooper sent them to the bottom of League two.

The pressure had been mounting for under fire boss Richard Jones and he resorted to defensive tactics by playing with a five man defence. He also abandoned width in the midfield and attempted to stiffle the Macclesfield attack. It worked well.

For 25 minutes the game was scrappy with both sides not really wanting to make a mistake. With so much at stake neither side had any real chance to speak of and both defences looked to dominate. The home side had the first strike at goal, Holgate shot over the bar after being put through by Scott with a well paced pass.

Domingo replied two minutes later. Fitzgerald's clearence found Anthony on the half-way line. He brought the ball forward and fed the ball down the right channel, a ball perfect for Cash's run. Cash ran with the ball and let his shot go just inside the area but his connection wasn't clean and his shot went wide.

With the half coming to a close, Saints had the best chance of the match. A Cash cross into the box found an advancing Anthony, he spun past Macclesfield's Scott's challenge and goalkeeper Budtz stretched to tip the Australian's shot round the post. From the resulting corner, Badger's header went over the bar and referee Carl Boyeson brought the half to an end.

After the break, both teams seemed to open up a bit more and the game became more open. Either side could make the break and on 53 minutes Saints did just that. Badger's clearence found Ben Reece in the center circle. Reece picked out Anthony on the left hand side and Anthony proceeded to advance down the wing. He crossed a lofted ball into the box and Rob Cash had the beating of defender Morley to header the ball past Budtz and put Saints 1-0 up.

Macclesfield tried to hit back at once with Doyle sending a thunderous shot towards Sandeep's goal. Fortunately for Saints, he got it all wrong and the shot went harmlessly wide. Rob Cash was having a great match and his tackling in midfield was relentless as the Saints continued to dominate the midfield.

64 minutes and the game was won. Again Philip Anthony broke free on the left-hand side and drifted into the area, bypassing Murray's challenge. He layed the ball across the goal and Kevin Cooper was on hand to shot, arriving into the box, although his shot did take a deflection off Morley. Cooper was in no doubt that the goal was his and that it had won the Saints their first points.

Macclesfield tried to get back into the game but the damage was too great. Sandeep was called into action in the final minutes and tipped over Treacy's shot but Domingo held on for their first win and a clean sheet.

Manager Richard Jones was full of praise for his team, particularly Cash won was voted Man of the Match. 'Rob was awesome today. He battled and his goal was well won. We deserved the win and I hope that this win can finally get our season off to a great start.'
